CALZONE WITH italian SAUSAGE CHEESE AND RED ONION OF TROPEA

We hope you guys don’t mind if we post another Calzone recipe. We weren’t planning on doing 2 in one week, but these just look so delicious we couldn’t resist.

Real italian dish

 

Hi guys!!!

Today I will cook a Calzone…. calzone is a special Neapolitan pizza roll.

ingredients:

  • For the dough look my old post “pizza Margherita”
  • 2 sausage
  • 200 grams of cheese
  • 1 mozzarella
  • some potatoes rosted
  • 2 red onions of  Tropea.

Today for lunch I have cook an italian sausage with potatoes, It has advanced quite a bit and I’m going to use as stuffing.

For made the calzone dough look my old post pizza Margherita.

In the meantime chopped the onion, put the onion in a  frying pan with hot olive oil,  when the onion is brown stop the fire.

Now you spread the pizza dough.

Now put in the dough the sausage, the onion, the potatoes, the cheese and mozzarella.

Now we made the Calzone you fold in half and put on the calzone the cheese.

Put into the oven to 250 degrees Celsius for 15/18 minutes.

Calzones, Little House by the Dunes

Calzones are a regular Sunday night dinner at the little house. If you make up a full-size batch of pizza dough  you can freeze half later and get a head start on another meal. Also, if you have picky eaters it’s fairly easy to just change the fillings as need be.

Calzone Recipe

½ recipe basic pizza dough, made with quick-rise yeast

1 small can of pizza sauce

8 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Pizza toppings of choice

Divide your dough into four pieces, each one will be close to baseball size. For each calzone, roll the dough out into a circle on a floured surface. Add 2 T. sauce to the center of the dough.

Stay away from the edge or you won’t get a good seal and all the yummy sauce will ooze out. Sprinkle toppings over the sauce and top with cheese.

Preheat the oven to 375. Fold the circle in half…
